Xiaomi enters the chat with the Mi Mix Alpha which basically is all display smartphone. Xiaomi is that the one who kinda kick started the bezel-less trend with the first Mi Mix and now three years later, when everyone was expecting the successor to the Mi Mix 3 with some minor improvements, Xiaomi took an entire new different direction and introduced a replacement concept which features a wrap around display witha screen to body ratio of 180.6% yeah, let that sink certain a second.
Honestly, for the past few days Xiaomi was teasing this smartphone and that i thought it had been their foldable smartphone. But it is not . it is a regular glass almost like the one we discover on devices just like the Galaxy Note 10, iPhone 11 Pro, Huawei Mate 30 Pro etc, which uses flexible OLED to bend the display at the edges . Xiaomi is looking this a 4D surrounding curved display. Like I’ve said, it’s a 181% screen to body ratio, the remainder 19% is occupied by small border up top and bottom and therefore the rear cameras eat a number of that screen to body ratio land . Speaking of which, the phone has 108MP camera. As you’ll see, there’s just one set of camerason this phone. So if you would like to require selfies or make videocalls then you’ve to flip the phone which should not be a drag because there is a displayat the rear also . beat all, it’s just like the Huawei’s foldable smartphone the Mate X, but the difference is that the Mi Mix Alpha isn’t afoldable smartphone.
It still amazes me how briskly the technology is evolving. I mean, I knew we might see smartphones that might appear as if this within the future but didn’t expect that might happen in 2019 itself. To be clear, this is often still an idea which suggests Xiaomi isn’t mass producing it like their other smartphones. they are not even getting to sell this internationally,it’ll be limited to China and is priced at almost $3000. it is the only trend that i do not like aboutcurrent smartphone.
Technology is recuperating and improving at a rapid rate but it comes with a price. But to be fair to Xiaomi, it is a concept phone. they need no plan of selling it, it’s about bragging rights i assume but if you’re crazy enough to spend $3000 for this phone then Xiaomi is prepared to ship one for you in December, provided you reside in China, and therefore the last time I checked, you don’t. So need to pay far more than $3000 and import it from China. Anyway, the most important question you would possibly haver ight now’s , why? Look I totally understand that it doesn’t provide much useful aside from the very fact that it’s freaking cool. Listen, Phones are becoming ridiculously expensive,to the purpose that they’re not just phones anymore but a standing symbol also .
It reflects your personality if that creates sense. When I’m buying a car, my top priority is looks then comes the remainder . Same for the phones also . When I’m buying a budget or mid range phone,looks aren’t really that important, the specs and features are. But when I’m getting a flagship, looks are one among the highest priorities before making a sale . and i am sure there are millions out therewith an identical mindset also . That’s why looks are important, and that is why this phone matters. Phone companies aren’t dumb that they’re running during a race to extend the screen to body ratio because they know there is a huge demand for this.
